At the end of January my school is having a ski retreat, I need to drop some lbs, any ideas?

I really want to be skinny so i can wear cute shirts and cute jeans, but im a little on the pudgy side, im not fat, im just not ideal.

Eat low fat and walk about 30 minutes to an hour 4-5 times a week.
Believe me… I dropped almost 70 lbs. However, I walked til I got up to 6 miles a day, 4 times a week. I ate 1000 calories a day and about 16 fat grams per day. You have to be disciplined. Its a change in lifestyle. Grilled chicken, shrimp and tuna are great in protein so be sure to have these in your diet.

How much should I expect to pay for this Ski equipment?…?

How much do you think is fair to pay for the following items….
VOLKL VSP Tiger L ski's , with Salamon 700 bindings and USA Triaxial K2 poles….all together in blue and black zipped carry bag…..It is all used BUT in perfect condition….

It's hard to say exactly. I don't think I would ever buy used skis unless I knew the seller personally, though. Tiger L's are a pretty basic ski, so I wouldn't pay any more than $250-300 for the whole set up-but use your own judgement…you know best what you're willing to pay and you've actually seen the setup.

What is the difference between Alpine skiing and Nordic skiing?

It varies, but I'd say Colorado. It's always beautiful and snowy, even in spring! I love it there! Vermont is the worst! But Colorado and Utah are the best and both have great skiing and are beautiful!

Whats the best skiing camp during the summer time?

If your looking to go skiing in the Summer Time I would reccomend packing up and going to the snow. Becuase its going to be a while before it comes to you. There are many good places to ski in south america. The other option would be to make a trip to mt hood. I believe they close for about 2 weeks for anual lift maitnance but they are open about year round. Only thing is theres not as much terrain available in the summer.

Lifetime movie question

I’ve seen this on Lifetime once a long time ago and could never remember the name of the movie. All I remember is that a young girl is training for some sport, skiing I think, in the woods. She gets hurt and two hermit men who live in a desolate cabin in the woods find her and basically kidnap her. The movie ends with her being rescued by helicopter and next scene is her identifying the two kidnappers in a lineup. Help!

What is there to do in Denver?

We are trying to figure out where my husband should get stationed next and Denver is one of our choices. I am just trying to see what the area is like and whats fun to do there. We also have a two year old so we can't do very extreme things like skiing and snowboarding, but we do enjoy the outdoors. Is there a zoo or something like that, too?

The zoo - as already mentioned - then there is also the Six Flags theme park, PLENTY of hiking and camping and there are even hiking trails throughout the city, the botanical gardens (and like right now in December there is a light show - the Blossom of Lights which is really neat), LOTS of parks, then of course movies and that sort of thing. Then there are the museums - both the science, aerospace, and kids museums as well as the aquarium. The civic centers are really good here too - which offer indoor swimming, basketball, game rooms, and such. There are a lot of kid friendly places as well for eating and shopping and such. In Boulder for example in the little strip mall shopping sort of thing, there is a small playground for smaller kids so you can bring them shopping then have a break. I have been in Denver 2 months - we have a 7 yo son we home school and it is great. Even with the snow we are loving it.

What ski resorts are close to the club scene in Quebec, Canada?

For my birthday me and some friends want to ski, but also experience drinking in clubs legally (we'll all be 18). I was thinking maybe stay at a hotel in Quebec near the nightlife, then take a day trip to ski. Or stay at a resort and cab downtown to the clubs? I don't know which is better or what ski resorts are close to 18 & over nightlife in Quebec. ANY info would be helpful! We're staying for either 4 or 5 nights….

Montreal is the place and the Laurentians are ski resorts I would use. There are quite a few resorts there but two of my favourites are Mont Ste-Sauveur and Mont Gabriel. I have added a URL with a list of the resorts - there are too many to list and describe here.
