Hi Folks
Mother iis a tad old at 78, but is starting to raise silly issues.
My Sister was accused of being a bit daft in taking her children, my neices & nephew to a festival, which they enjoyed.
My two sons came with with me to a water-skiing event, and I was told it was foolish, as I took part.
The final straw yesterday was her saying "God, you are stupid"!
I have a pilots ticket to fly a helicopter, and fixed wing, ski at county level, and allsorts.
I do not normally boast about this, but as Mother darling is an ex-secretary, I object to being called a fool.
Do you get similar ?
Bob
. She is like your Mum in some waysPerhaps your Mum at 78 is becoming senile - no disrespect.
We have an 86 year old lives with us who is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease, your lucky, I get told I'm stupid, Get really filthy looks, and mumbles behind my back most of the time.
So, you see you are not the only one out there with problems. Best thing to do is ignore them and walk away, don't get into conflict with your Mum it will make her worse.
Good luck,
Get her checked out at the Doctor's,. does she forget things I forgot to ask.

Not knowing your mother, it's hard to tell you off. Is there the possibility that some dementia is taking hold? Is this the response from her that you've always gotten? I wouldn't take it to heart.
