We have an 86 year old lives with us who is suffering from Alzheimer's Disease, your lucky, I get told I'm stupid, Get really filthy looks, and mumbles behind my back most of the time. So, you see you are not the only one out there with problems. Best thing to do is ignore them and walk away, don't get into conflict with your Mum it will make her worse.
