build a rail out of pvc pipping and put it on a hill and slide down it landing on the grass...this wont mess your skis up. also get a lot of trampoline time in this will help you land tricks next year. for your movie go all out and try some crazy stuff...dont hold back or you will regret it the second the season is over. Also go to an ice rink and take all of their snow and go build a jump on an urban rail. Another sugestion is windells summer camp on mount hood. all ages are aloud to go its sick
References :
Stay in good shape. You won't really be able to work on technique during the off-season, but you can keep yourself in good health
References :
General working out. Work on your midsection a lot. Core strength is key. Stretch a lot. Flexibilty will also help you from blowing out a knee or something equally as season ending. Yoga would probably help a lot with the flexibility, as well as teaching you MUCH better balance. Learning as much about your center of gravity and being as aware of your body position as possible will really help you when going big on spinning tricks. Ariel training on trampolines will help you focus your mind on making your body do exactly what you want it to in the air. As for rails...not sure. I always slide out on them. Maybe going to an ice rink and practice balance while sliding? Or railslides on a skateboard? Bongo board, get one of those. There is also a skiing work out device called skier's edge that might be worth checking out. I have heard good things about it.
References :
Stretch a lot.
Strength training. Absolute best is running in knee deep water at the beach in the surf! Improves balance and power all without hurting your feet or knees.... and it's kinda fun. AVOID Running on cement/hard tracks.
Roller blades are very very similar in balance, skills and mechanics.
Do anything that requires balance set up an obstacle course (tight rope, standing and spinning, boards, bongo boards, balance beams... it is a skill improved by doing and feeling. *you have 'proprioceptor nerves' in your feet, learn to feel them by feeling the where the presure is in your feet.
See if there is a trampoline available anywhere. Trampolining is fantastic for learning tricks, strengthening your legs and cardio etc..
Make a camera mount that holds the camera close to the snow and about even with your ski tips. Use a wide angle lens and learn to run with it, jump with it and learn what keeps it smooth. Never shoot film on a cloudy day...just looks bad/flat. Burbank resident so shoot me an Email for more help/support for your project if you are in/near LA.
References :
PSIA level 3, USSCA alpine level 2, Skier in 5 ski films, 6 yrs pro-freestyle, commercials, and camera operator of moving shots (thru bumps, over jumps etc. mount was self made but was used for 16mm film so video would be easier)...also have a digital camera able to take 15 photos a sec....

Ski some sand dunes in So. Cal. or other place. Getting to the top of the peaks will sure build up your legs.
