They also open early, in October, weather permitting. Hood in Oregon. It is open year round. Now if you want "fake" skiing there are some places that have roller skate like skis(seen it but no idea where) and similar contraptions to simulate skiing on the grassy summer hills. Many resorts run lifts in summer for downhill bicycling, or hiking, or sightseeing... and many have activities also like summer sledding (bobsled but on concrete course on sled with wheels) or other such things... But, some places (like Aspen) do run the chair lifts and you can ride it up and hike around or bike down. Even Pikes Peak doesn't have any snow in the summer, but it's still a beautiful place to visit!<br><b>References : </b><br> No snow in the summer.
